Lecture: Food for Dinosaurs, Food for Thought


The Courtenay and District Museum is pleased to host three paleobotanists for an afternoon of presentations and discussion from 1 to 4pm. Admission is by donation.

Dr. Ruth A. Stockey, Oregon State University, will speak about a Taiwania-like seed cone from the Eden Main.

Dr. Gar W. Rothwell, Ohio University and Oregon State University, presents “The Parataxodium Flora resolved.”

Dr. Alex Bippus, Oregon State University, will discuss Late Cretaceous bryophytes from the Tsolum River.

Some of the best preserved fossil plants in the world are found within a 50 km radius of Courtenay.

Many new species have been discovered and described by this group of dedicated scientists.
