Spring Fling & Easter Things

There is a lot in store at the Courtenay Museum’s Spring Fling & Easter Things event on Saturday, March 24 from 11am – 2pm.

The ever-popular petting zoo (courtesy of Shamrock Gumboot 4-H Club) gives folks a chance to meet lambs, kids (baby goats), ducks, geese, bunnies and chickens.

The day’s special guests include Magical Faces who will paint faces for a small fee and the Hot Chocolates Easter Rabbit who will be at the museum between 12:30 and 1pm to hand out delicious chocolate samples. This year volunteers from Project Watershed will be bringing along their mascot Newton Newt.

The museum’s own Elasmosaur will be making an appearance for photo opportunities. Then at 1pm it’s the race of the mascots as Newton Newt and the Elasmosaur compete to see who is the fastest.

If you’re feeling crafty, you can make an Easter hat and enter it in a contest.

Several games are planned for the Fling. There will be a Dinosaur Egg Hunt, “guess how many treats” contest, carrot toss, pin the tail on the rabbit and everyone can enter to win door prizes.

All are welcome. Admission is by donation with half the proceeds going to the Shamrock Gumboot 4-H Club.
