    From December 1st through to the 23rd, members of the Courtenay & District Historical Society will receive a 25% discount on most items in our gift shop. This offer does not apply to items already marked down or on consignment. Your valid membership card must be shown at the time of purchase.

    Patt Scrivener makes her home in Parksville, BC and performs for celebrations of all kinds and teaches music in her home studio.

    New Arrivals in the Gift Shop


    The gift shop has some brand new additions courtesy of Rex London, ranging from retro to modern toys and games. These include jacks, spinning tops, juggling balls, train sets, slimy slugs, stitching sets, tiddlywinks and more.

    In celebration of the elasmosaur’s provincial fossil emblem designation, the museum has added brand new elasmosaur postcards, stickers, and children’s t-shirts to the gift shop as well. Get them while they last!


     

    Christmas Recipe


    “Give Me Some of Those Cherry Snowballs!”

    This recipe was published in the Rotary Anns Tasting Tea booklet from 1970. At that time, the Tasting Tea was a popular annual event and fundraiser for the Anns. The booklet contains recipes by many of its members including Kath Kirk, Rachel Corfield, Jeanie Harder, Laura Gordon and Helen Laver.

    New Exhibit - Our Living Languages: First Peoples’ Voices in British Columbia
    December 16th, 2023 - April 6th, 2024

    Holiday Closure


    The museum will be closed from 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 23rd through Monday, January 1st, 2024. The museum will reopen again Tuesday, January 2nd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and resume regular hours. We wish everyone a Happy New Year, and we’ll see you in 2024!

    In 1961, founders of the Courtenay and District Historical Society began with a regional mandate to create the Courtenay and District Museum (CDM) to collect, preserve and interpret natural and cultural heritage of the Comox Valley.
