    Courtenay Streets

Local historian Dorothy Isabelle Stubbs (1905-2003) wrote several different columns for newspapers over the years including “Spotlight on Courtenay Streets” for the Comox District Free Press in 1970.

For readers looking to enjoy a reprint of some of these articles, they will be featured in the newsletter over the coming months. Each article provides the backstory to the families behind the street names in the downtown core. And for longtime residents, this is a fun way to test your memory to picture bygone landmarks and streetscapes.

This month, learn about the Beckensells from the January 28, 1970 edition.
