Local historian Dorothy Isabelle Stubbs (1905-2003) wrote several different columns for newspapers over the years including “Spotlight on Courtenay Streets” for the Comox District Free Press in 1970.

This month’s article provides the backstory to the Grant Avenue name– a street that now consists of three parts. The piece, from the March 18, 1970 edition, gives a nod to the early settler days of mining and logging.
