Rotary Gallery Exhibit

Showing in the Rotary Gallery are three impressive ceramic tile murals created by grade 11 and 12 Art students from Cowichan Sr. Secondary for the Royal B.C. Museum’s “Dragon Bones” Exhibit. The almost fourty students each spent about five weeks designing and creating one or more of the 15 inch by 19 inch ceramic tiles, which are mounted in groups of 15 tiles per mural. While on view in the Royal B.C. Museum, over 425,000 people viewed the artwork.

Art teacher Lynda Faulks offered to donate the murals for permanent exhibit in the Courtenay Museum, as the panels have a dinosaur/dragon theme, saying “It seemed like such a perfect fit. “
