Photo caption: ‘… the Comox Argus reported on April 28, 1948, that “a letter was read from the Superintendent of Lands, Victoria, advising that the application of the British Columbia Packers Ltd. to lease certain foreshore in Comox Harbour for oyster culture purposes had been approved, and that it had been decided that a lease should be granted, subject to the right of the public to use the foreshore for bathing swimming, etc.”‘ Page 154.
